We offer a wide variety of cosmetic options. Some of these options are whitening, veneers, bonding, and all ceramic/porcelain crowns.
This is the procedure of making teeth whiter and more attractive and it can be done in the comfort of your own home in just two weeks.
Impressions are taken of your teeth from which laboratory-fabricated custom vinyl trays are made. You will place a prescripton-strength hydrogen peroxide gel in these trays and wear them for 30-45 minutes each day when itis convenient for you. We offer different strengths depending on the patient's existing tooth sensitivity. The tray method even works on badly stained teeth, such as stain caused by tetracycline, if you continue to whiten for longer than the two week period. Depending on your habits of drinking stain-causing coffee, tea or wine, the whitening will last and can easily be maintained by using the trays occasionally once or twice.
Veneers are an esthetic dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth to make it look whiten or straighter. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. There are two types and they differ in cost and durability.
1. Composite Veneers: This method is usually referred to as bonding. Bonding is less expensive and is done in one visit. They have the look of natural tooth and are matched to your existing tooth color, but will not be as durable as porcelain veneers.
2. Porcelain Veneers: These look more like natural teeth and will last much longer than composite veneers because they are made at a laboratory out of porcelain or pressed ceramic. They require two visits. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In three to four weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed and they are best when the goal is changing the look of the teeth. If the tooth has a very large filling already, a crown will better protect it form breaking. An all porcelain crown will hide any old silver filling that is present and make a tooth look like new.
